Silence in Doses
Silence in doses, moments of calm.
A time where thoughts can meet.
Whenever I am around people for too long, or just too many people, I crave to be alone.
Overstimulation overwhelms my mind and body.
Sometimes, a little silence can be a good thing.
It gives us a chance to reflect, recharge, and find peace in our busy lives.
However, once I’m alone, I suddenly don’t want to be.
Being alone is lonely.
You are stuck in your own thoughts.
When it is silent for too long I begin to hear my fears.
When I hear my fears I realize I am alone, and then I become terrified.
In the quiet moments, when the world feels like it is standing still, your own doubts and worries may start to fill you mind.
In the silence, you may hear whispers of doubt.
Voices that questions what life is about.
The fear of failure, the fear of the unknown, echoes loudly when we are all alone.
I’ll take my silence in doses, but I never want to be truly alone.
Beware of silence’s might; too much solitude can dim the light.
When you live in your thoughts you aren’t living in the moment or building your future.
In the silence, secrets about yourself may hide.
